Halloween Tree Tea-Light Candleholders

Hazard

There have been reports that some tea-light candles burning in the candleholder could flare up, posing a fire hazard and a risk of burn injuries to consumers.

Remedy

Consumers should immediately stop using the candleholders, and return them to the store where purchased for a refund or exchange. Consumers who purchased the candleholder from the catalog or web site should call to arrange product return and refund, including the cost of postage.

Reported Injuries

Pottery Barn has received 10 reports of candles in the candleholder flaring. One consumer reported receiving a minor burn from the candle wax.

Sold At

Pottery Barn stores, web site and catalogs sold the candleholders nationwide, from August 2002 through early October 2002, for about $29.

The black wire "Scary Tree Tea-Light Holder" is about 18 inches high. The tree branches hold six tea-light candles in orange glass pots.
