Hazard

A wooden strip added to the end assemblies of the crib to correct a spacing problem could come loose, creating a space, in violation of the federal crib standard, and posing a risk of entrapment. In addition, the three pin nails used to hold the strip in place pose a laceration hazard if the wooden strip detaches.

Remedy

Stop using the crib immediately and call Child Craft Industries for free replacement ends.

Juvenile furniture stores nationwide from April 14, 2005 through October 2005. The 37001 pine crib sold for about $350. The 27601 hardwood (aspen) crib sold for about $500.

Full Recall Description

The recalled cribs have their model number 37001 or 27601 printed on a label on the bottom rail of the head or foot board. The 37001 crib comes in three finishes: chestnut, white and cherry. The 27601 crib in aspen also comes in three finishes: natural, pecan and cognac.
